Before we begin…
I am proud to announce that I am finished with the spring semester. Which means I’ll begin blogging more frequently again!
I finished this semester with three A’s and a B and my GPA is an estimated 3.68. Now, before I start on this journey, I’d like to point out that this summer is going to be an interesting one.
Along with the various visits from family and friends, I’m going to embark on a challenging path with one of my best friends. My fellow writers might know it as NaNoWriMo, but my best friend and I are going to switch it up a bit. Due to NaNoWriMo originally being placed in November (aka the time for finals), we’re moving it up a bit.
For my non-writers, NaNoWriMo is just an abbreviation for “National Novel Writing Month,” but we’re going to stretch it out over three; the entire summer. Making it “Novel Writing Summer,” or NoWriSum.
School officially ended for both of us on May 11th, so we decided that a good day to start this project was May 15th. For those four days, we workshopped plotlines, twists, and character developments so that way we could just (as Roger Smith from American Dad would put it) dive on in!
The ultimate goal is to end this summer with 50,000 words under our belt and hopefully enough paper to print our results as “trophies.” Over the course of this summer, I’ll be posting my finished chapters on this blog along with papers and stories I’ve written for my three English classes. When I title my book, it’ll have its own menu on my main page for my blog (until then check the drop down titled NoWriSum2018).
It’s bound to be an interesting, albeit busy, summer for Keeping Up With A Skillings and my QwerkywriterS! So, make sure to keep up with me! You won’t want to miss it. 🙂
Disclaimer: This current post is more of an accountability tactic, so that way I can be held by my word.
